Zoo Museum
The Animal Museum in the Giza Zoo is one of the oldest museums not only in Egypt but in the Middle East, where it was established in 1906 AD
The museum consists of 3 floors and includes exhibits related to the study of animal history and science, including rare skeletons and mummified models of various types of birds, reptiles and wild animals, some of which date back to 1910 AD.
In the same building there are two halls, one of which includes a full scientific group of Egyptian birds and other scientific groups of reptiles, mammals and rodents for scientific research, and the other hall holds training courses for students and those interested in wildlife by specialists in order to raise environmental awareness to preserve wildlife
The museum includes 1352 mummified birds, 555 mammals, 259 reptiles, 115 skulls, 35 skeletons, and 49 heads. The oldest of these mummifieds dates back to 100 years ago, the age of the Giza Zoo
