Giza

                                      Giza

Giza is the capital of the governorate of Giza. Together with Cairo and Shubra al-Khaimah, it formed Greater Cairo. Giza is located in northern Egypt, between the Nile River to the east and the Western Desert to the west. It is adjacent to Cairo, the capital of Egypt. Giza is one of the largest Egyptian cities in terms of area and population

Yaqut al-Hamawi mentioned it in the dictionary of countries, and he said: Giza in the language of the Arabs means the valley, which means the best place in it, and Giza is a country on the Nile in the west of the city of Egypt opposite it. In Al-Maqrizi plans, he said: Giza is the side and the side of the valley, and Al-Jiz is the side of the valley, and it may be said in it Al-Jiza, and Al-Jiza is the name of a large, beautiful village on the Nile from its western side towards the city of Fustat, Egypt. And it was stated in the book Al-Intisar that the city of Giza is an Islamic city built in the year 21 AH                                                                                                                                                                        It was mentioned in the best divisions of al-Maqdisi: that Giza is a city behind the column (meaning the Nilometer), and the road to it from the island was over a bridge until the Fatimid caliph cut it off, and Amelino said in his book Geography of Egypt that its old name was Tibersis, and this is wrong because Yarisis is the old name of the village of Tersa It is located south of Giza, and it is from the era of the Romans. As for Giza, it is an Islamic city established in the year 642 AD - 21 AH, and it is the base of the center of Giza from the year 1884 AD

Giza is one of the largest tourist centers in Egypt, rich in ancient Egyptian antiquities, such as the Giza pyramids and the Great Sphinx. Dotted with hotels, restaurants and bazaars. Giza Zoo, the first zoo built in Africa, is located in Giza. It will become the center of the largest museum of antiquities in the world upon completion of the construction of the Grand Egyptian Museum, which is expected to open in 2021, which will exceed the Egyptian Museum in Cairo in capacity and size
