The Kingdom of Hungary arose in eastern Europe, where it included Slovakia, Croatia, Transylvania, and northern Serbia to its borders, until it became an empire on Christmas Day in the year 1000 AD, and under the rule of its king Stephen, and by the sixteenth century, the power of the Ottoman Empire gradually increased, and many others entered Of the lands in the Balkans, and the Kingdom of Hungary was weak in that period as a result of its suffering from many internal splits between members of the nobility during the reign of Louis II, so the Battle of Mohács took place in 1526 AD between the Ottoman Empire and Hungary.


The Ottoman army of 100,000 soldiers, 800 ships, and a number of cannons were led by Caliph Suleiman the Magnificent. The Hungarian army of 200,000 was led by King Louis II, and the battle ended with the victory of the Ottomans, tightening their control over Hungary, and eliminating the kingdom, then the Ottomans suffered from the successive attacks of Christians to liberate Hungary, but they failed in that, as Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent lasted for 13 days, which is He organizes its affairs, then appointed Jan Zaboli as its king, and it became a subsidiary of the Ottoman Empire.


Soviet forces occupied the Hungarian lands after the fall of Nazi Germany, and Hungary gradually turned into a communist state in the Soviet Union, and after 1948 AD, the communist leader Matthias Rakuzi established a Stalinist rule in the country, which led to the Hungarian Revolution in 1956 AD, where Hungary withdrew from the Warsaw Pact And managed to push the Soviet Union to withdraw from it, so Janusz Kadar became the leader of the Communist Party, and in 1991 CE the Soviet military presence in Hungary ended, and the transition to a market economy began.


The dominant feature on the surface features of Hungary is the lands whose height is less than two hundred meters. As these lands occupy about 84% of the total area of ​​the country, and in the direction towards the Tisza River the land begins to decline to reach the point of lowest elevation in Hungary (only about seventy-eight meters above sea level), and from there to the northeastern part of the country's capital, Budapest. Where is the highest point in Hungary; It is the summit of Kik Mountain, at an altitude of 1,014 meters, and the northeastern part is characterized by the valleys of the Hungarian rivers, and the Danube River is the main river in the country, and Lake Balaton is the largest lake with an area of ​​601 km²


Budapest is the capital of the State of Hungary, and it is one of the largest cities in the European Union, in addition to being one of the most beautiful European cities, as it is home to the largest thermal cave water system in the world, and therefore witnesses a great tourist interest; More than 4.4 million people visit it every year, making it the sixth city, and the most popular in the European continent, and the city is the political, administrative, industrial and commercial center of Hungary, and it is distinguished by its leadership in many fields, especially trade, media, art, and technology. , Education, entertainment, and others, in addition to being the seat of the national government, and the Royal Palace, which is the seat of the President of Hungary.


The city of Budapest was a small settlement, then it grew and became the capital of Romania known as Lower Pannonia, and during the nineteenth century the citizens of Hungary began to live in it, and in the sixteenth century it came under the control of the Ottomans after the Battle of Mohács, and the Ottomans continued to rule it for 150 years, during this period Budapest flourished as an international city, and after the unification of the Pest district on the eastern bank of the Danube River, the city was formed on November 17, 1873 AD, and the city was the joint capital of the Austro-Hungarian Empire with Vienna. And that is before the fall of the empire in 1918 AD, and the city has been a focal point in many revolutions and battles over centuries, making it the first choice for choosing it as the capital of Hungary after independence in 1918.
