Oman (officially: Sultanate of Oman), is an Arab country located in Western Asia and is the third largest in terms of area in the Arabian Peninsula. Its coastline extends 3,165 km from the Strait of Hormuz in the north to the border with Yemen, overlooking three seas: the Arabian Sea, the Sea of ​​Oman, and the Arabian Gulf. It is bordered to the west by the United Arab Emirates (410 km long) and Saudi Arabia (676 km long).

The Amman City Comprehensive Plan received international awards including the World Leadership Award in City Planning and the City Award for Asia in 2007. The number of administrative areas in the Municipality of Amman is 22 geographically distributed areas with each integrated staff. The 68-member council, chaired by the capital's secretary, is divided into 14 different committees.


Oman has been ranked internationally as one of the best cities in the Middle East in terms of economy, environment, labor market and socio-cultural factors.
