Cape Verde or Cabo Verde Republic / is an island country on the continent of Africa, consisting of an archipelago of ten volcanic islands located in the central Atlantic Ocean, west of the coast of North Africa. At one point it was the center of the transatlantic slave trade



Cape Verde islands is located 570 km from the coast of Senegal in the Atlantic Ocean. The islands consist of two parts: rugged mountain islands and flat plain islands, and the climate of the islands is moderate throughout the year in relation to its marine location and the most important of these is Santiago, which is the largest of the islands, and has the capital city of Praia, then Saint and Saint Vincent Island, Santa Anto Island, Fogo Island, Nicolo Island, Mayo Island and Santalusia Island, discovered these Portuguese islands in 1460 AD, and these islands constitute an excellent location in the Atlantic Ocean and for this Portugal occupied and independent in 1975 AD




The island's economy complains of poverty in natural resources, including a severe shortage of water resources worsened by long-term droughts. The economy is mainly dependent on services such as trade, transportation, and tourism, which contribute 66% of national income. Although almost 70% of the population lived in the countryside, in 2004 the share of agriculture in national income was 12% and the most important crops were "sugar cane, corn, coffee, and bananas", which estimated fishing 1.5%. About 82% of food should be imported. The potential for fishing, often marine lobster and tuna, was not fully exploited. Every year, Cape Verde suffers from a high trade deficit, funded by foreign aid and remittances from migrants. Economic reforms are geared towards developing the private sector and attracting foreign investment to diversify sources of income



The Portuguese occupied Cape Verde, at the beginning of the fifteenth century, after the Phoenicians discovered it and were empty of the population. The state became a major center for the trade of African slaves in the sixteenth century. It had a clear impact on transatlantic traffic as it became an important stopping point in the nineteenth century. The Cape Verde Islands were transformed from a colony to a province by the Portuguese in 1951

The African Party has led several different attempts to improve different areas of life including political, economic and social in addition to the various attempts to independence of the country, and it has completed the march to fight a war consisting of 10 thousand Self-Defense Forces soldiers against 35 thousand African and Portuguese soldiers, and fortunately they managed to win the war despite the great losses And they were able to control most of Portuguese Guinea in 1956. Cape Verde declared its independence in 1975

The population of Cape Verde is 560,899 people, according to the census in 2017. There are multiple races in the Cape Verde Islands, where the Creole race and also called the Mulatu constitute 71%, the European race 1% and the African race 28%
