Afghanistan / officially the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan is a country located in Central Asia, bordered by Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and Turkmenistan to the north, Iran to the west, and China to the east, while Pakistan to the south.

The meaning of the word "Afghanistan" is the land of the Afghans, and it is considered one of the old points of contact for the Silk Road and previous human migrations.


Afghanistan has an area of ​​652,230 square kilometers and has common borders with Pakistan, Iran, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and China. Yet Afghanistan is a landlocked country with no seas.

The nature of the land is generally rugged mountainous with plains in the north and southwest, the highest elevation point in the country is Nuscha, with a height of 7,492 meters above sea level.

 The country's natural resources are coal, copper, iron ore, lithium, uranium, and earth elements ... rare, chromite, gold, zinc, talc, barite, sulfur lead, marble, precious and semi-precious stones, natural gas, and petroleum.


Afghanistan has a harsh continental climate in winter. It is distinguished by the cold highlands, the summers are warm except for the more elevated heights, most of the countries are dry or semi-dry, and the rains are usually light in winter and spring, and no rains fall between June and October.

The geographical features of Afghanistan are varied, as it consists of mountains, including: the Hindu Kush, Pamir, the Himalayas, the central highlands, and the highlands. The plains are located in the north of the country, and also contain a number of rivers.

Afghanistan is distinguished by its long history and vibrant culture. It has many distinctive tourist places, including: Dar Al-Aman Palace: It is located in Kabul, and was built in the twenties of the twentieth century at the hands of King Amanullah, Babur Gardens: It is a tourist destination with stunning views, in addition to that there is a swimming pool, museum, Mosque, and many other museums.

Bamiyan; it is one of the most important tourist destinations in the country, with statues of Buddha Bamiyan sculpted on its mountain slopes. Dari and Pashto are the official languages ​​of the country. Ahmad Shah Durrani is the founder of the modern state in Afghanistan. The Afghan currency (AFN) is the official currency of the country.

Kabul: The capital, Kabul, abounds with many historical monuments that bear witness to the ancient history of the region. Most of these traces date back to the era of Caliph Uthman Ibn Affan, may God be pleased with him and the early Umayyad caliphate. Among these are:

 Balkhshti Mosque: It is the largest mosque in Kabul, and historical studies say that the one who laid the cornerstone in it is the companion Abdul Rahman bin Samra.

The minarets built on the shape of the star plan in the city of Ghazni and many other Islamic monuments such as: Sultan Mahmoud Tower, and Sultan Masoud III tower, Ghazni was considered the capital of Islamic culture in 2013 AD.

Herat City: The city of Herat contains many Islamic monuments such as the ancient wall, its gates, the Great Mosque, and its fortress.

The city of Mazar: It contains the Blue Mosque, which is a historical mosque. It is a minaret or minaret of Jam. It is located in Ghor, and it is completely made of refractory bricks. It is seventy meters above the ground.


Afghanistan is one of the poorest countries in the world despite the presence of natural resources such as: coal, copper, iron ore, lithium, uranium, chromite, gold, zinc, talc, barite, lead, sulfur, marble, precious and semi-precious stones, natural gas, and petroleum .
