The owl

The owl

An owl is a prey bird mainly active at night. He uses the powerful sense of his hearing and his big eyes, which provide a good night vision, in catching mice, rabbits and other small animals. The owls have soft feathers that provide him with silent flying so that he does not reveal his command. Some types of squawks are easy to distinguish

A bird frequently appears at night and calms its ruins, and the proverb is set in banshee, the ugliness of the image and sound is set, and the proverb is also set in the owls for wisdom in other civilizations.

The owls can fly at a reasonable speed, and their feathers mask the sound of the rustle, which birds usually speak in flight, and therefore the owls are not heard any sound in their flight, which enables them to pounce on their prey without knowing it. Some types of owls can see well during the day, which enables them to catch as well as at night, while others do not see and hunt only at night

Other types of owls with delicate hearing depend more on hearing than on looking at sniping, and these species can distinguish their game from mice, field mice and other small mammals and hunt them in complete darkness depending on the rustle that mice make in running through the leaves of trees in the forest floor

Owls mainly feed on mammals, as larger owls hunt rabbits and squirrels, while smaller ones hunt many mice and rats and much shrew (a mouse-like animal). Owls usually catch their prey alive, but sometimes carry animals that have just been killed on the roadside by cars

Some owls also hunt birds and insects. As well as some types of owls hunt fish from the shallow water. Like albaz, owls rip their large prey into small pieces that they eat, and swallow small game whole, then after that he pronounces pieces of bone, fur, scales and feathers he cannot digest, in his nests and dormitories

Owls are one of the most beneficial birds for peasants as they get rid of rodents that harm crops such as field mice and rats as well as rabbits, and rarely hunt poultry because they are often asleep in their homes when night owls are active

Owls do not build well-made nests, but most of their nests are abandoned gos or crows nests, or are cavities in trees and caves or underground burrows, grain pens and fodder or abandoned houses. Most owls lay around three or four eggs, while some lay one egg, and this is the minimum, and some lay 12 eggs, and this is the maximum. The eggs of the owls are almost round and white with a yellowish or bluish color

Male and female owls collaborate in the bosom of eggs and in caring for the young. Young owls are covered in thick white fluff, and the young ones stay in the nest for 10 to 12 weeks. The father and mother defend the nest, and some people may sometimes be harmed by their claws

It is common among people that an owl is able to see in complete darkness, and this is not true, so there must be light in order to be able to see. In fact, the owls are able to see in the scarce light, so its wide eyes can capture the weakening of light rays

Scientists have recently discovered a strange matter in the hearing potential of owls, they have noticed that the eye is located in the center of an expanding circle, similar to a cup of coffee; and it became clear to them that this dish is very sensitive to receiving the weakest sounds, collecting them, and delivering them to the ear. If we add this to the special capabilities of the ear itself, as an advanced device it can recognize the most accurate sounds

The owls complete their tools as a skilled hunter. If the owl hears the sound of the movement of its prey, and its eyes observe its location, it vanishes, in a jiffy, as the latest war plane, to hijack the animal, unlucky, between its claws. In order for the element of surprise to be complete, the owl, while raiding its victim, does not make a sound that raises attention, since the feathers of its wings are very soft, striking air in softness, so the flanking wings do not have a sound heard

In addition, the owl does not need to hit the air, or to flap, with its wings a lot. The wings are large enough, so that they can carry the body easily, and you see the owl hovering and maneuvering in the air, in a smooth flow, as if it were a glider

It is one of the birds in most parts of the world, night, prey, hawk-like, its strong big feet, its hooked beaks and long sharp claws, and its eyes are adapted to see in the dark, able to see during the day, but spend the day asleep with caves or tree trunks, and its feathers are soft and fluffy, and its flight does not Almost unheard of, they are birds of an advantage in the world of birds. They are distinguished by a strong sense of sight at night, and this is evident from the large size of their sharp, piercing eyes

They generally feed on mice, rodents and insects, thus deserving of the title of environmental cleaner and farmer-friendly, and the owl is the only bird that can look with both eyes to one goal, so in order to see those around her head rotates at an angle of 270 degrees, in addition to its extreme distinction In night vision, this feature is comparable only to cats

At sunset, most birds cease to vigor and spend the night. At this time, owls are interested in looking for food. These cautious predators preview their prey using the growing eyesight and hearing. Once she identifies a prey, she catches her sharp claws. Some are satisfied with small prey, such as bedding at night; and older ones, such as horny owls, can hunt a deer-sized animal

If most of the owls are nighttime, some of them catch a day, such as a white owl, which lives in the Arctic regions where darkness is never perfect in summer. To make their attacks successful, owls must determine their prey very precisely. Some, like the hame, limit small animals to hearing only; most owls monitor their prey by looking and hearing together

The shape of the face contributes to the sounding of the sounds towards the ears, whose internal composition differs in size and location. This feature allows the bird to pinpoint the source of the sound with supernatural accuracy. Instead of being spherical like the human eye, an owl has a funnel shape and a large part of it is inside the skull

Thus, you cannot turn in the socket. But the remarkable head movement compensates for this deficit widely, as the bird can turn its head more than 180 degrees. After the prey is caught and killed, owls take her to a tree for devouring her. Thanks to its wide beak, most can swallow mice and small birds at once

As for the larger prey, cut it with the hooked beak and strong claws. In Ifriqiya, a fish catcher feeds with pearfish, breams, and catfish and swallows them from her head. And in her menu too. Toads and cancers. Owls do not chew their food, but often swallow it in one go. And it pronounces all that is indigestible, in the form of small felt balls called floating doubles

The latter is a list of what has been swallowed up, thanks to which we can identify all the waste. To the right, the segmented bulb denotes the remains of a field mouse. During the day, this encircled hidden owl crouches in a tree where its color is camouflaged. If an intruder closes too soon, it opens its eyes wide. Some owls perch in gardens and even in city parks, but thanks to their excellent camouflage, people rarely notice them
