Congo / It was called "Zaire" between 1971 and 1997, it is a country in Central Africa, sometimes called "Congo-Kinshasa" in relation to its capital to distinguish it from the Republic of the Congo, which is sometimes called "Congo-Brazzaville". It is a country located in the middle of Africa




The Democratic Republic of the Congo was first settled by humans about 90,000 years ago. Bantu peoples began migrating to the region in the 5th century and again in the 10th century. In the west of the region, the Kingdom of the Congo ruled from the fourteenth to the nineteenth centuries, while in the center and east of the region, the kingdoms of Luba and Luanda ruled from the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries until the nineteenth century




The climate of the Congo belongs to the tropical style, its temperature rises in most months of the year, and rains fall most of the year in abundant quantities, but in the month of May, June and August, it is the season of drought and increases in the equinoxes, but in the third and fourth months of the year large amounts of rain fall


Congo is responsible for the development and maintenance of the Congolese franc, which is the primary form of currency in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Although the citizens of the Democratic Republic of the Congo are among the poorest in the world, and the GDP was the lowest nominal second per capita, the Democratic Republic of the Congo is widely considered to be the richest country in the world in terms of natural resources, and untapped deposits of minerals are estimated. In crude, its value amounts to over US $ 24 trillion


Conditions improved in late 2002 with the withdrawal of a large portion of the invading foreign forces. A number of IMF and World Bank missions have met with the government to help it put in place a coherent economic plan, and President Joseph Kabila has begun implementing reforms. Much economic activity lies outside the GDP data. The United Nations Development Human Development Index report appears to be one of the worst in decades. As of 2011, the Democratic Republic of the Congo had the lowest HDI of 187 ranked countries, ranked below Niger despite a higher margin of improvement from this country, the last of the 2010 figures


Agriculture is the basic craft of the population, and oil palm cultivation is spread in the East, cocoa and coffee are grown on the margins of the forests, in addition to the previous crops, sugar cane, corn, and rice, and there is wood wealth that comes from forests that occupy half of the country, and agricultural yields and wood wealth are the most important exports. Livestock is represented in livestock, sheep and goats, and the country has mineral wealth, the most prominent of which is oil and gas. As well as extracting copper, zinc, lead and a little gold


The economy of the second largest country in Africa relies heavily on mining. However, economic activity on a smaller scale is taking place in the informal sector and not included in the GDP data. The largest mines in the Congo are located in the Shebaa Governorate, in the south. Congo is the world's largest producer of cobalt ore, and a major producer of copper and industrial diamonds, the latter coming from the Kasai province in the west. Congo has 70% of the world's coltan, and more than 30% of the world's diamond reserves. Most of them are in the form of small, synthetic diamonds


Coltan is the main source of tantalum, which is used in the manufacture of electronic components in computers and mobile phones. In 2002, tin was discovered in the east of the country, however, so far, the mining has been on a small scale. Metal smuggling conflict, coltan and tin stone (ores of tantalum and tin, respectively), helped fuel the war in eastern Congo. Katanga Mining Ltd., a Swiss owned company


It has a capacity of 175,000 tons of copper and 8,000 tons of cobalt annually, making it the largest cobalt refinery in the world. After a major rehabilitation program, the copper production company restarted in December 2007 and cobalt production in May 2008. The Democratic Republic of the Congo also has 50 percent of Africa's forests and a river system that can provide electrical power for the entire continent, according to a United Nations report. On the strategic importance of the country and its potential role as an economic powerhouse in Central Africa. It is one of the 20 lowest-ranked countries on the Corruption Perceptions Index


In 2007, the World Bank decided to grant the Democratic Republic of the Congo up to $ 1.3 billion in aid money over the next three years

The Democratic Republic of the Congo is on the way to becoming a member of the Organization for the Coordination of Business Law in Africa
