Comoros
Comoros

The Comoros Islands / is an Arab country located in the Indian Ocean, close to the eastern coast of Africa, at the northern end of the Mozambique Canal, between the north of Madagascar and northeastern Mozambique. The closest countries to the Comoros are Mozambique, Tanzania, Madagascar and Seychelles

Comoros has an area of 1.862 square kilometers, or 863 square miles
So it is the third smallest African country in terms of area, and its population is estimated at 798,000 people. Thus, it is the sixth smallest African country in terms of population despite it is one of the highest African countries in terms of population density, as it is the southernmost country in the League of Arab States. The name of the Comoros is derived from the Arabic word "moon"

The country officially consists of four islands in the volcanic archipelago of the Comoros: they are: the island of Mawaly, the island of Anzouani, and the island of Mahore, in addition to many smaller islands. Nevertheless, the government of the Comorian Union (or its predecessors since independence) has never ruled the island of Mayotte, which France regards as a French colony overseas and continues to rule it

This is due to the fact that Mayotte was the only island in the archipelago that voted against independence from France, and France used its veto power and objected to United Nations Security Council resolutions affirming the sovereignty of the Comoros over the island. The ruling was never returned to Comoros, and the referendum that took place on March 29, 2009 about the island becoming part of the French homeland in 2011 was greeted with an overwhelming celebration
Achieving economic growth and reducing poverty tops the list of government priorities. And the unemployment rate rises to 14.3%. Agriculture, fishing, animal husbandry and forest management are the most important sectors of the economy, and 38.4% of the population work in the first sector. A high population density of 1,000 people per square kilometer in the most dense agricultural areas can cause an environmental catastrophe in the near future for an economy that relies heavily on rural agriculture
Especially with the high rate of population growth. The real GDP in Comoros was low, estimated at 1.9% in 2004, and the real GDP per capita continued to decline annually in 2004. These declines are due to several factors: low investment, a drop in consumption, high inflation, and an increase in the trade imbalance. This is due to the relatively low cash crop prices, especially vanilla
The climate is generally tropical and temperate and there are two main seasons that are fairly significant in precipitation. The temperature reaches 29-30 degrees Celsius (84-86) degrees Fahrenheit in March, which is the hottest month in the rainy season that runs from December to April. On the other hand, the temperature drops to 19 degrees Celsius (66 degrees Fahrenheit) in the dry cold season that runs from May to November. The islands are subject to hurricanes during the rainy season and these hurricanes are strong enough to destroy infrastructure twice a decade
Comoros archipelago is formed by volcanic activity. The Kertala volcano, which is an active shield volcano, is located in "Inzigia" and is the highest peak in the country, with a height of 2,361 meters (7,748 meters) (2,362 m). This mountain contains the largest patch of disappearing rainforests in the Comoros. The Carthaginian volcano is one of the most active volcanoes in the world at this time, as it revolted a small revolution in May 2006 and had erupted soon before in April 2005 and also in 1991. In the volcano eruption that occurred in 2005 and which lasted from 17 to 19 April 40,000 people were evacuated and the crater lake in its large crater - measuring 3 by 4 kilometers - was destroyed
Comoros is one of the countries characterized by a small population, with a population of less than one million people. Despite this, it is also one of the most densely populated countries, with a population density of 275 people per square kilometer, equivalent to 712 people per square mile. In 2001, the proportion of urban residents reached 34%, and this percentage is expected to increase due to the negative growth of the rural population. At the same time, the overall population growth continues to increase
Comoros is a small country near the continent of Africa in the Indian Ocean, with Moroni as its capital
