Seychelles / Officially, the Republic of Seychelles is a country in Africa located in the Indian Ocean consisting of several islands, the capital of which is the city of Victoria

It was named after a French person who was responsible for tax collection. The "Seychelles" archipelago consists of about 115 islands in the Indian Ocean, about 1,600 kilometers from the east coast of Africa, to the northeast of Madagascar. Its main islands are in the middle of the rest of the islands, which are Mahia, Praslin and La Digue which are rocky granite islands

As for the rest of the islands, they are coral, most of which sink under the surface of the water, forming some low peaks, and they are not volcanic in nature, like other volcanic islands. Among the neighboring countries is Madagascar Island, as we find the closest countries on the African mainland to Somalia to the northwest

The city of "Victoria", which is the capital of the Republic, is located on the island of "Mahi", the largest island, and it is the smallest capital in the world in terms of area, as it is the city and the only port of the country. The country has received a lot of attention, which has given it a distinctive look in terms of beauty and planning

The Seychellois people consisted of several races and different races, when the first ship loaded with workers arrived on the island in 1770, and they are a group of French accompanied by some of the peoples of their African colonies to help them, and after they confirmed the validity of the land for some agricultural products, they attracted more workers to work in fields Cane, coffee, cassava and other tropical plants

These peoples settled into small and dispersed villages, and after the region moved to English sovereignty, some French preferred to stay. In an attempt by the British to increase agricultural production in these islands, they resorted to attracting more workers. This was one of Britain's largest colonies in Asia, namely India and China, to add to the peoples of the island other races that raised the rate of ethnic disparity

Despite this diversity, Seychelles is still one of the poorest countries in terms of population, as the current population counts, according to the latest census conducted in 2002, only 80,300 people in varying proportions of Africans, Indians, Chinese, and Europeans, in addition to a few Arabs. Belonging to Africa geographically, but it belongs to Asia with its inhabitants, most of its inhabitants are Indians and Chinese, and from East Asian countries and remnants of the ancient colonists, namely the English and then the French later and some Europeans, and the Africans in these African islands are a minority. The majority of the population works in the tourism sector

Seychelles is dependent on tourism and its national income for tourism, as it has no other resources, and Seychelles is currently witnessing a clear prosperity in terms of building and construction of hotels and large resorts and is a magnet for tourists because of its natural features, and its beaches are considered one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. It is what it exposes to tourists and visitors to it

Seychelles is called the pearl of the Indian Ocean, due to the presence of many tourist attractions and picturesque nature, it is famous for the beaches with fine white sand, which are decorated with black granite rocks scattered on these beaches, and a group of statues that were formed in the past

The islands are considered natural farms for many spices trees, such as cinnamon, vanilla and nutmeg, and they are considered important agricultural products on these islands
