Costa Rica is a Central American country. It is bordered on the north by Nicaragua, on the southeast by Panama, on the west by the Pacific Ocean, on the east by the Caribbean Sea. Costa Rica’s army was abolished constitutionally and permanently in 1949, and it is the only country in Latin America included in the list of the 22 oldest democratic countries in the world. Costa Rica means “rich coastline”



Costa Rica is home to a rich array of plants and animals. Although they occupy approximately 0.25% of the world's land area, Costa Rica is unique to 5% of global biodiversity

 The Caribbean coast in Costa Rica receives the most quantities of rain in the form of showers in the evening, and like other countries, temperatures vary with altitude. The average maximum temperatures in the high areas of the central valley are about 22 degrees Celsius, while the average temperatures are about 32 Degrees Celsius on the Pacific coast

Costa Rica is not a rich country nor is it as poor as its neighboring countries, and wealth in it is well distributed among social classes compared to other countries in Central America, and despite the country’s reliance on agriculture, less than a sixth of the population works in this sector that constitutes About a tenth of the gross national product, the main crops of which are sugar and coffee, bananas grown in the low-lying Caribbean, and pineapple that is spread on farms throughout the country

Costa Rica has a population of 4,930,258 according to statistics for the month of July 2017, ranking 123 among the countries in the world, and the Spanish language is the official language in the country, and Mestizo is the majority of the population with a rate of 83.6%, and the majority of the Roman Catholic population is followed by up to 76.3 %

Costa Rica's marine body of water is ten times its land area, Costa Rica's coastline is 801 miles, and Costa Rica's population is less than five million, ninety-four percent of them are of European origin

Costa Rica represents one of the largest hosts of biological diversity in the world, with the proportion of organisms having 5% of the total living creatures in the world, including fifty-two species of hummingbirds, 750,000 species of insects, and ten percent of all butterflies in the world, A quarter of the country’s area has been designated as nature reserves, bringing the number of reserves to more than a hundred

Costa Rica is an important tourist destination that visitors from all over the world visit, and Costa Rica is famous for many important monuments that express its picturesque nature and culture, including the following: -

Santa Elena and Monteverde: They are two small cities at high altitude, where they can enjoy wandering through the clouds in an exciting eco-tourism experience

Arenal Volcano: It is one of the currently inactive volcanoes, as its last regular eruption stopped in 2010, the Arenal Volcano region is characterized by scenic landscapes and the presence of hot springs

 Cerro Sherpeau: Costa Rica's highest peak overlooking the Pacific Ocean and the Caribbean Sea, is one of the most famous attractions for climbers and landscapes
